It's honestly never too early to book your session! I've had people book their sessions as early as a year in advance! While you may not want to be thinking that far ahead, my advice is to definitely not wait too long. If you're graduating in 2024, you're probably already working on your senior year class schedule which means senior year is literally right around the corner!
Most students have their senior portraits taken the summer between junior year and senior year and the fall of senior year. If you wait until school starts to book your session you probably won't have as many options for dates since nearly all of my sessions will already be booked by then. So, now is really a good time to start thinking about this so that you can have plenty of time to plan your outfits and to make sure you get it done early and can enjoy your pictures all year long!
Gwen - Pope High School Senior
In May of 2022, Gwen's mom called me and wanted to go ahead and schedule Gwen's session for the following spring since she would be graduating in 2023. Getting this on their calendar meant that Gwen could relax knowing that it was already taken care of and she could concentrate her attention on some of the other deadlines like college applications and campus tours.
Having Gwen on my calendar so early was awesome and I was so excited to finally get to meet her! She requested a unique location for her senior session: Krog Street Market and it's one of my favorite places to go. It has a completely different feel than other parts of Atlanta and is really easy to park in one place and easily get from one part of the neighborhood to the other.
Gwen picked incredible outfits for her senior pictures! From a traditional white dress to a sequin top for a lot of personality as well as two other casual outfits that were perfect for her. I think my favorite is her outfit with the cargo pants, cropped top and boots!
We had an absolutely gorgeous day with lots of sun which was perfect for her! Bright and sunny! She's such a positive, outgoing person and we had so much fun during her session and later in the year I even got to meet her older brother for a quick sibling session also. I am so thankful I get to meet amazing people like her! Best job in the whole world!
