One of my last senior sessions for Class of 2023 was with twins, Marissa and Gavin!
I'd been looking forward to meeting this beautiful girl all year and I was so excited when she booked her session! There were seven different sets of twins at Sequoyah this year! That might be some kind of record. This is the second brother/sister session I've done in the last few years and it can be a challenge to find a location combination for siblings who have different preferences but we managed perfectly with Roswell Mill and Barrington Hall.
We started the night off with the most casual outfits. I always find this helps to warm everyone up to having their portraits taken (especially guys) because you feel the most comfortable in your most familiar clothes. One of the most obvious benefits of taking your senior pictures with a sibling is that you have someone else with you in at least some of the pictures and it's not only focused on you all by yourself.
We began at Roswell Mill because that location can get dark pretty quickly because it's basically in a hole surrounded by trees. We then moved across the street to Barrington Hall which is one of my favorite locations!
Barrington Hall is SO Beautiful All Year Round!
I don't think I've been to Barrington Hall and ever had it look exactly the same way twice! Each time I go, there is something new in bloom. The first time I used this location with Molly, the pink camellia bush was in bloom. This time with Marissa this beautiful archway was covered in white flowers. It was absolutely gorgeous!
We came back a week later to finish up her session because we kind of ran out of sunlight the first night and then the pink roses were in bloom on the porch! I felt so badly having to ask her to do part of her session over again but it all worked out for the best! It was also good to give her a little extra time just to focus on her without having to divide our time. In fact, I did the very same thing for Morgan and Connor several years ago! It's great to have a combined session to make sure that we get some pictures together but having time for an individual session is so important that I've decided this is how I'll approach twin sessions going forward.
Cady Studios or whoever your school uses for formal yearbook and cap and gown pictures aren't the only option! The images we capture at your senior session are so much more fun than just the studio backdrop pictures you'll get from those other places. Another benefit of doing your cap and gown at your full senior session is that you can change up your outfit! I love that Marissa wanted to wear her Georgia College t-shirt with her cap and gown and then also do her graduation dress with it as well. I think it's awesome to show where you came from and where you're going all in one picture!
Marissa, you are one of the sweetest girls I've ever met and I am SO thankful you asked me to take your senior portraits! I know you're going to love Georgia College and they are so lucky to have you there!
