I've known this guy's family for almost 20 years! It's really hard to believe that these people we knew from a class at church comprised of newly married couples and now they have kids graduating. Nathan told me he was glad that his session gave him an excuse to get some clothes in the style he's been wanting to dress: a throwback to '90s. He definitely got that look right! He's an awesome guy and very laid back and funny and so easy to be around. He had wanted a a unique and urban location for his session so we went with Marietta because he wanted a wall mural in at least a few pictures. There's this awesome mural of chickens and I thought it was as fun as he is and that it was a good choice that matched his personality!
What to Wear for Senior Portraits
I like to encourage all my clients to choose between 3 and 4 outfits. Three is definitely a minimum so that you get plenty of variety. I recommend picking
- a casual outfit: something you'd wear on a regular basis,
- a more dressed up option: a lot of times this is an outfit your mom or dad is hoping you'd wear (like Nathan's suit pants and button up shirt),
- and an outfit that you'd wear when going out with friends or on a date: something a little more dressed up than your "everyday" clothes that really feels like you feeling your very best!
Your senior pictures are a like a special event; treat it that way and try not to think, "But this isn't how I dress every day." I get it. You want to look like yourself, not some overdone version of you. It can be hard to find that balance. I think Nathan did an excellent job finding just the right outfits to show who he is but he also took it as an opportunity to refine his style. I think that's the perfect approach!
