Here it is,...one of the hardest posts I'll ever write. (cue the crocodile tears)
Gigi Barsh, how can you possibly be old enough to have graduated?! I was there when you were born (I was on the hospital floor above you but I was there)! That phone call with your mama the day we both went to the hospital is one I'll never forget. We were both hoping our girls would share a birthday and what a gift it was that you were born shortly before midnight! Our birthday twins! You are a gift in so so many ways.
I'm going to hit Pause on the mushy stuff for now and save the rest for the end.
We began Gigi's session in Roswell, GA last summer on a night that quickly came to a close with a drenching rain shower! We managed to get this first outfit done, however, on the first night and just scheduled the rest of her session for the end of the week when we had a more promising weather forecast.
Rain Delay
A few days later we met at the same park where I took her sister's senior portraits the year before. Even though Gigi wanted the same location, we didn't want her images to look exactly like Caroline's. Using the same location gives siblings similar pictures so that they look nice together framed on the wall but I don't think anyone wants a mirror image and this particular park has so many pretty backdrops that I think we achieved that pretty easily! Your senior session should be uniquely your own even if you have similar tastes as an older brother or sister.
Obviously, outfit choice plays into this also! Your style and which outfits you choose make a big difference and show off your personality as much as your location choice. One of my favorite outfits Gigi brought was this floral top and jean shorts!
Well, here comes the rest of the sentimental stuff:
Gigi, you've always been funny and sweet and a joy to be around! You make everyone in the room feel comfortable and welcome and you are incredibly talented and finished in the Top 10 in your class! You love music and reading and, most importantly, you love Jesus. I have loved watching you grow into this absolutely gorgeous, ambitious young woman and I'm so excited for you as you get ready to begin college at Georgia Tech! Congratulations, precious girl! I hope you are even half as proud as the rest of us about who you've become and thankful for all that God is working in and through you. XOXO
