I quite often have people ask me, "When is the best time to schedule my session?" There are actually several factors to consider when making this decision.
#1 - Do you have a deadline?: Some seniors want their pictures to be in the yearbook or in the senior program for their fall sport. The deadline for fall sports programs is typically the end of August so your session needs to be done over the summer during June or July. The deadline for yearbook is usually the early part of October. If you want your pictures to be included in the yearbook then I suggest scheduling your senior session in July, August or early September.
If you DON'T have a deadline, the next question you should ask yourself is
#2 - What is my favorite season?: Do you love summery dresses and warm weather? Book your session the summer before your senior year begins. Do you hate the heat and love sweaters, scarves, jackets and boots? Have your pictures done in the late fall or winter. Do you want your location to include beautiful flowers or budding trees? Schedule your session for March or April when everything is in bloom.
What if you're having a hard time narrowing it down to just one season?
#3 - Have you considered breaking your senior session into multiple mini-sessions? If you can't choose just one option because you love several seasons or have reasons for choosing more than one season, then it might be best to go ahead and book 2 separate sessions so you're able to incorporate more of what you love into your images.
Call me to discuss what your options might be and I can help you decide which time of year is best for you!
