I just read [most of] a blog post by one of my all-time favorite bloggers, Alicia Paulson of Posie Gets Cozy. Her writing, her pictures, her crafting...all of it is always so sentimental and sweet and special. I used to write a blog when my children were smaller and it was such an excellent creative outlet for a stay-at-home mama to little people. It's actually one of the reasons I started to learn more about photography. I wanted beautiful images to go along with my words. And even though a picture may be worth a thousand words, let's face it, words are awesome too! So I'm looking forward to writing more and getting some of the words in my head out into the world again.
So, I'm sitting here working on editing some images from a recent senior session with a student from Sequoyah. Bruce Hornsby is playing in the background. Outside, the temperature has finally dropped from blazing summer heat to crisp autumn and grey skies. Absolutely a refreshing change!
I received some prints this morning from Elena and Helen Marie's sessions and almost a dozen are from some film images I took of Helen Marie in Little Five Points and they look incredible! It supported my decision to switch to film from digital. There are so many things I love more about film than digital and I will begin detailing some of those reasons soon. Just being able to sit down and write for a few minutes is going to be one of the changes I'll be able to make once I no longer have to sit at my computer editing pictures for hours on end! I'm very much looking forward to that.
The next step will be conjuring up the nerve to make the change completely! Wish me luck! In the end, we'll all benefit from it.
